[edit]I have a book that describes the Malta and Cyprus incidents differently. For example, it says that Unit 777 entered the EgyptAir Boeing 737 through a hole in the roof it created with explosives, but too much explosives were used, killing some hostages. The book also says that it was Unit 777 that used HE grenades and sprayed the plane with gunfire. It also notes that snipers accidentally shot some fleeing hostages, mistaking them for snipers. - This seems to support what I remember reading. [1] Axeman89 22:35, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
Unit 777 committed some mistakes - as any other unit may do - but surely they didn't neither spray the plane with fire nor throw hand grenades. This is a real eye witness statement. Thank you.
Rewrite
[edit]To everyone who is watching this article, I felt bold today and re-wrote it using material I have at home. The main problem (I think) were some unsourced statements in the previous version that would have been hard to establish as reliable. Please go over what I did, and discuss here if you have any concerns, etc. My hope is that someone has a book other than the one I do that can provide more factual information about the unit. §FreeRangeFrog 05:33, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

- No they didn't, and that's not even their task. Unit 777's mission is countering any international terrorism against Egypt and special operations like aircraft hijacking...etc. Amrtarek (talk) 09:58, 6 December 2013 (UTC)
