Sorry, but AN is *not* centrist -- it's clearly to the right of the centre, and not that close to the centre by European standards. —Nightstallion 19:23, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
There is some need for a description of their broad philosophy and what makes them different to other right leaning groupings as currently it has nothing on this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.255.74.236 (talk) 17:45, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
Eurosceptic
I realise that the lead is fairly well source, but the sources which describe the UEN as being Eurosceptic ignores that two of its largest constituent parties were broadly pro-European: FF and AN. A better hash is made of it later on the article when it is described as heterogeneous. I propose to change the lead accordingly. — Blue-Haired Lawyer t 15:42, 25 June 2014 (UTC)
- Well, the reference refers to the UEN in its entirety as a parliamentary group, which as a whole unit did have Eurosceptic leanings despite the fact that FF and AN both later ended up in pro-European groups (ALDE and EPP respectively) although, yes, it was heterogeneous as well. With the smaller EP groups it often was and is the case that they operate as alliances of convenience with inherent contradictions. How about moving the 2 refs for Eurosceptic into the article text saying 'the group was described as Eurosceptic', or something along those lines?--Autospark (talk) 23:22, 25 June 2014 (UTC)
