[edit]It's not a member of the conservative Internacional democrat Union, but (as the article on the Socialist International and the french article on this party well recall, it's a left party and a member of the Socialist International. Any other reason for this mistake other than the word Democracy in the name of the party? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.136.21.65 (talk) 15:09, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

- ... that after the Union for Democracy and Social Progress won the 2018 Congolese general election, its presidential candidate was criticized as unproven, inexperienced and lacking his father's charisma?
- Source: Burke, Jason (11 January 2019). "Why Kabila may be real victor of DRC's contested election". The Guardian.
Tshisekedi is the leader of the Union for Democracy and Social Progress (UDPS), DRC's oldest and largest opposition party. Critics say he is unproven, inexperienced and lacks the charisma of his father. 'His father was a man of the country. The son is very limited,' Valentin Mubake, former secretary-general of Tshisekedi's party told the Guardian last month.

Union for Democracy and Social Progress (Democratic Republic of the Congo) → Union for Democracy and Social Progress – There are four political parties with Wikipedia articles that use the name "Union for Democracy and Social Progress". The three other parties are all inactive at present, had very minor electoral success (managing a few or no seats), and were founded after the one in the DRC. In web searches, the DRC political party is comfortably and dominantly the subject of nearly all the results. The DRC party is evidently the primary topic, so a move should be done to reflect this reality. Yue🌙 20:45, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
- Support per nom, the others get less than 20 views each, the Congo one gets 4000+, it’s the clear WP:Primary topic
