Old Union Station and the current Amtrak Station are different

[edit]

The old Union Station area and the (relatively) newer Amtrak station are two mutually exclusive areas of the building. You cannot access one through the other. Many people go up to the front doors of the old station to board a train, thinking it is the entrance to Amtrak. I work at the building and see this very often. I didn't think the article did a good job in being clear about that, so I added "Union Station continues to serve as an active railway station, but through a smaller passenger area on the Liberty Avenue side of the building.". I wanted to go into more detail, about how the Amtrak station is in the lower lot on Liberty avenue, but I was starting to sound like an information desk rather than adding to an encyclopedia entry. --Pittsburghmuggle (talk) 12:22, 21 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
