If Unangan is the name the Aleuts gave themselves and an article (far longer than this one and which mentions the name Unangan) called Aleut people exists, then this article should be a redirect. As a matter of fact, it's existence is confusing, at least to me. - Frank (Urashima Tarō) (talk) 06:01, 22 June 2011 (UTC)

- Should definitely be merged. Unangan, meaning 'people' (plural) has been widely adopted by the Unangan themselves. It also appears on the newest Alaska Native language map. At several meetings of the Bilingual conference in Anchorage Unangan was agreed as preferable to the the singular person, since the singular is different in the Western and Eastern dialects (Unangas and Unangax^).
