This is not "Viking metal". Number one, Viking metal is not a genre. The proper name for that genre is folk metal. This is not a folk metal album. This is a black metal album with folk influences. Folk metal has a distinctive "big" sound with very "epic" sounding riffs. I removed the "Negative Criticism" section because the guy who wrote that seems to have a vendetta against Varg Vikernes (the artist)
[edit]his blog is full of attacks against Varg Vikernes's character, his lifestyle, and the political statements he makes ever so often. He is not a good critical source because he seems to have a hatred of Varg Vikernes and thus will only ever give his albums bad reviews.
