Opposed to merger proposal
[edit]The horizon concept versus a particular type of soil should certainly remain separate. At least within the FAO/WRB classifications, it is possible for a soil to have a diagnostic horizon without being classified as the corresponding "expected" soil, because the soil classification depends on more than just the presence of a horizon. I prefer not to merge them for the same reasons as mentioned by Kyle MoJo. But if you do want to merge, then you can only incorporate the article about the umbric horizon into the article of the Umbrisol. But the article Umbrisol must be maintained. It is one of the 32 Reference Soil Groups (RSG) of WRB. Every RSG has a Wikipedia article. Eleutheropodic (talk) 09:34, 4 December 2018 (UTC)
