Incorrect information about Fyra's location

[edit]

Hi, I am the COO of Fyra Labs so I cannot edit this article due to WP:Conflict, I'd like to note that Fyra Labs is not a Thai Entity. Ultramarine started out as an open source project in Thailand, but was acquired by Fyra Labs, an American entity, becuase the original maintainer needed help. We now use other methods to allow us to ship patented software while remaining on the good side of the law.

Despite this, I believe the Thailand portal should stay, as Fyra Labs is owned by a Thai-American, and Ultramarine is still managed by a Thai person, the roots are rather evident, and we consider Ultramarine to still be a Thai project.

I want to help with this article and make sure it showcases Ultramarine from every side accurately, I highly suggest that somebody adds a criticism section, and some more information about Ultramarine generally.

Our own wiki is a great primary source about the philosophy and features of Ultramarine Linux, but please try to back up parts of it with secondary sources where possible. From where it stands this page uses a lot of primary sources which may get it taken down for lack of notoriety.

This page is also currently orphaned, there is one place on Wikipedia where Ultramarine would've been linked if a page existed, I'd suggest adding a link to Budgie (desktop environment).

Also, please add a copyedit box so we can get newcomers stopping by to clean things up! This would be so great!

Thank you so much to the editors who put this up, and on behalf of our team, thank you for any future edits <3 Jaidenstar (talk) 15:06, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the corporate background; I've made the correction. And the talk page is the criticism section, so given that and your declared WP:Conflict (best practice) we're good to go! kencf0618 (talk) 16:13, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
