Powers and abilities

[edit]
  • I'm curious if there's a description or an explanation as to why Magneto was so soundly beaten by Colossus. Do his powers have no effect on this "organic" steel? --AWF
    • Colossus was being held down by Magneto's power, but was able to fight Magneto's influence, and defeat him.
  • I'm wondering where Ultimate Colossus has shown that he can withstand temperatures as hot as the Sun, he can survive indefinitely in a vacuum, and blasts from nukes. I understand he withstood a blast from a small, arrow-borne nuclear warhead shot by Hawkeye but that's different from what most would consider a nuke. I talked about this on the Colossus 616 page when Ultimate Colossus was part of that article and never got anywhere with it.

Relationships

[edit]

Added pictures. Also fixed links. All the Ultimate Colossus links still went to the 616 page so fixed that. I found this page by chance. Was going to make one using the name, saves alot of work to see it's already made. :) --Leelan 06:54, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of pictures

[edit]

Here is the message I sent to Leelan to explain why I was removing his/her uploaded pictures from this page:

Hi, Leelan! I wanted to make sure you understand the reasons I've been removing your pictures of Colossus from the Ultimate Colossus page. The issue is that Image:Jeanpaulpiotr9tz.jpg and Image:Ultimate X-Men 065 page 21.jpg are both listed as a "single panel" each, which is incorrect. Each image actually shows the entire page, so the copyright data is incorrect. If you can narrow each image down to one panel and replace it, that would be sufficient. Otherwise, the images aren't fair use under what you specified when you uploaded them.

Hopefully this will help clear up that I wasn't just removing the pictures because I didn't think they fit or contributed; it's an issue of copyright. --Rocketgoat 04:34, 9 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

History

[edit]

It would be nice to have more of the titles of the arcs that are talked about in his history. I attempted a copy-edit, but didn't have the information to add arc titles. Psyphics 15:32, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I suppose that sounds fine, I don't like the format of the article as is, set up as a list of story arcs, no other comic article I've seen is set up this way. Bradtcordeiro 22:28, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Actually a lot of it should be cut out, as too much plot is not fair use. For examples of articles done like this one, see Runaways (comics), Ultimate Fantastic Four, Young Avengers and the Bendis and Maleev section of Daredevil (Marvel Comics), some of which have had the plot portion split into another article. --Newt ΨΦ 22:35, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, you did make me realize something. The pages you linked to are for characters or teams with their own books, Colossus is just one part of the larger Ultimate X-Men. So really, most of the story should be cut out and left for the Ultimate X-Men page to handle, and this page should cover origins, powers, etc? Bradtcordeiro 01:26, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, actually when I posted that, I thought I was on the Ultimate X-Men talk page. Much of the character history can be removed if it can be handled by the Ultimate X-Men article. Like I said, though, don't keep it too detailed as too much plot is not fair use. --Newt ΨΦ 01:35, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I'm cutting out a lot of the plot that's not completely necessary for Coloussus. I'm also going to condense a lot of it.

The wiki said that Colossus left the team because of unrequited feelings for a member of the team. However, the art in the issue where the team is sitting around the table discussing what they did that made the newspapers, the character hinted at is Storm, not Wolverine. I think Xavier says as much later on, but I can't recall without the book in front of me. This was before Colossus was revealed to be gay. Bradtcordeiro 22:28, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't remember that. --Newt ΨΦ 22:35, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Go read the bit where he goes to say something to wolverine(if they should not survive), and wolverine tells him to keep it to himself. And when mags is beating the shit out of everyone, colossus gets up and says 'no one lays a hand on wolverine'. It is Wolverine.T-Man 22:38, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Dang, alright, when I get home I'm hitting the trade paperbacks for evidence either way :) Bradtcordeiro 22:54, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Coming to America

[edit]

I don't really remember which comic it's in, but I remember Colossus stating he came to the states as a nine-year-old boy. That's by no means a "young man" and would mean he probably didn't come to America to help his parents out. I don't know where this information came from actually. -- Newt 14:11, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
