Note to all

[edit]

Hey everyone, it's great to see some enthusiasm for working on this article. Thank you especially for the picture - they pulled mine off because I did not fill the copyright information carefully enough, or something like it. I'd just want to make one general point (especially in response to your comments below): This is an encyclopedia article, intended for the general world out there, for people who read the phrase "Mahindra UWC" somewhere, and want to it up. As such, it should be only as long as necessary to convey the essential information about MUWCI. Turning this article into a piece that records the schools complete history, or an in-depth description for future students, will probably make it a very bad encyclopedia article. My feeling is that it is a bit too long and too detailed already, so let's work on quality, not quantity. Also, let's work on other language versions. Does anyone feel like creating the Marathi and Hindi versions? Tobi Kellner 03:15, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, but I put in a bunch of the information after looking at articles of american universities. I agree there might be an information overload, but I also think that a lot of this information is relevant. We definitely need more people here, thats for sure. Also, I dont know anyone with experience in typing in Hindi/Marathi. I certainly dont. Pdinc 07:08, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I see a lot of edits, but no one on the discussion page. Anyone want to say hi? Pdinc —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.64.30.214 (talk) 19:02, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tablulating the subjects

[edit]

Can someone who knows what they're doing tabulate the IB subjects by group? Thats a lot of unnecessary blank space. Pdinc 07:24, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Subjects

[edit]

I changed the information because spanish a1, spanish a2 and history were not in the list.

Re: Newspaper

[edit]

Sorry, I cut that one out. Now, don't get me wrong. I can imagine that it's an issue really close to your heart. Why can I imagine? Because I (with Zubs and Srim), spent every friggin' Friday night (sometimes until 8 am) of my First Year at the computer, editing FTB in its second year, 1998-99. And for me your entries were highly entertaining. But for anyone else out there who just wants to figure out what MUWCI is about, it is rather completely irrelevant. And as Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, it's those people we write for. If you feel the newspaper discussion needs to go back in, please explain why you think it is crucial information for an encyclopedia text about MUWCI. Tobi Kellner 00:43, 23 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

There isnt a valid reason, except that the people who wrote the newspaper have the need to fill their egoistical heads to the point of exploding. Ok, that was in jest. The point is the Tribune wasn't regular and appears to have no future, unless someone takes it over next year. Also, I made a few additions to information about the campus and academics. It would be nice to see some more ex-MUWCiites here though, so that this could be a good, unbiased resource for incoming students. Pdinc 18:09, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pdinc, nice job with the academic stuff you have put up. Lets put up something about the administration(wilko, cyrus) since there is going to be a change in administration and we should make sure ppl dont forget the wilko era. see you soon. --Vigneshravi 07:14, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Im putting up more stuff as and when I have the time, but im sure its in need of further refining. Vignesh, could you have a look and do the needful? Pdinc 09:36, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pdinc, email it to me and ill take a look. btw, looks like there are 3 more UWC openings up. btw, in case u didnt realize i just changed my nickname so dont get confused. take care --KindOfaBigDeal 11:24, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Myths and legends

[edit]

To whoever wrote that one: Nice, I had a good laugh (I am a bit worried about students disappearing on the Hill in 98 - that's MY year!), I'd also have some contributions, like comments the architect or one of his employees is said to have made about the intended purpose of the store rooms, about leopards on campus (true, actually), and about a very special emergency provision stored at the medical centre. Thing is, though, this is an encyclopedia, and people have a bad habit of taking things serious in those. And we wouldn't want the dear mothers of future first years worry about their kids vanishing on "Internet Hill" (hah! I was up on that Hill before there even was internet... yes, that old I am, hand me my artificial teeth, will you, my son). But maybe we can start a collection here in the discussion board. Tobi Kellner 01:00, 23 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm interesting so a leopard on campus. What about that one from a cow blocking the way out of a party in wada3, where people did not dare move it becuase they thought someone could get offended? I heard that one from my 7th year. What is teh special meidcal provision and the supposed use of storerooms, I am curious seriously curious.

Assessment

[edit]

It has been requested that I assess this article at WP:WPSCH/A. While this institution is called a college, it appears to be below degree level, so is therefore covered by Wikipedia:WikiProject Schools, rather than Wikipedia:WikiProject Universities. I'm giving this article low-importance for WP Schools as the college is relatively new and the content of the article does not suggest a higher importance is appropriate. I am also leaving this article on Start-class for now. For C-class or higher, far more references will need to be provided, as well as further content. Please see WP:WPSCH/AG, WP:V, WP:CITE, and WP:CITET for guidance. CT Cooper · talk 14:47, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
