From the earliest version of this article it has been asserted that this ship was transferred to the Royal Canadian Navy in July 1942. However, the site at http://uboat.net/allies/warships/ship/4297.html suggests that 'Lincoln' was merely loaned to the RCN but remained in Norwegian Naval service. This is supported to some extent by official US Navy photographs posted on the World Naval Ships Forum which show her wearing a Norwegian ensign in March 1943. Is there an authoritative source that confirms whether or not she was formally commissioned into the RCN and between what dates?
Update: 'Lincoln' is not included in the list of 'Town' class destroyers in the official history of the RCN, which seems to support the argument that she was never commissioned within that Service but remained under Norwegian colours until being returned to the Royal Navy in 1943.
