Commissioned?

[edit]

Although the infobox reports "Commissioned: 9 August 2008 (scheduled)", an anonymous editor has updated List of current ships of the United States Navy to indicate that Sterett is a current ship. I am not sure what the status change is, but perhaps it has now been commissioned. A similar update by the anonymous editor has been verified (North Carolina was commissioned). If verification of a status change for this ship can be found, please also update the List of Current Ships, and include a source footnote for the status change. doncram (talk) 17:47, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

re: commissioned

[edit]

i just received (july 5, 2008) an invitation to attend the commissioning ceremony for the sterett on aug 9,2008. so my guess is that whoever reported it as active is mistaken. local baltimore news reported the sterett leaving shipyard in maine july 3 or 4 and heading for norfolk va before going up the chesapeake bay to baltimore for commissioning. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.35.104.251 (talk) 18:39, 6 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
