There's much to like about this article, but I'm afraid that I need to quick-fail this GA nomination as its content is not referenced to reliable published sources: please see Good article criterion 3. Wikipedia articles cannot only be supported by the recollections of individuals with knowledge of the topic I'm afraid.
To help with developing the article to GA class, I'd also like to offer the following comments:
- The lead should be expanded so that it provides a short summary of the sub's career
- Please provide background on the context in which the sub was aquired (eg, that she was part of the Cold War build up of SSBNs)
- Please move the explanation of what Blue and Gold crews are, and how the rotation of duties worked to where this is first mentioned in the article
- "During Simon Bolivar's commissioned period she operated in the Atlantic and Mediterranean from three sites: Holy Loch, Scotland; Rota, Spain; and the continental United States, mainly Charleston, SC and Kings Bay, GA." - can the dates she changed home sites be provided?
- Please use bullet points or similar to make indented text appear correctly (eg, to get rid of the grey boxes - this is an example of how to do this)
- Did the routines and life aboard the submarine change across her lengthy career? Nick-D (talk) 00:27, 29 December 2016 (UTC)
