Who was Sidney C. Jones?

I stumbled on this article, and the one question I had was, who was the person this ship named after? I realize the source material doesn't answer this question either, but.... well? Any clue? --Krelnik (talk) 23:45, 2 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
