The article states that "Shark was deactivated, in commission, on 16 October 1986." This date seems too early - as a U.S. Naval Academy midshipman, I did my youngster cruise in June 1987 on USS Shark, and I don't recall it being "deactivated" in any way at that point.
- The dates given in the article agree with those listed here, which is one of the few comprehensive sites on the Web that doesn't just copy Wikipedia's data. If you have a source we can verify that gives different dates, we'd love to see it. (Your memory is a good starting point, but I know I sometimes forget which of my patrols in the early 1980s was which.) ➥the Epopt 06:13, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
Where Shark was in the 70's
[edit]Shark did a Med deployment in 1973-1974 and upon her returned entered Ingalls Ship yard at Pascagoula MS. Left the shipyard i late 1976 or 1977 and deployed on a 3mo UNITAS run to South America. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.36.20.5 (talk) 21:41, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
