Evangelion

[edit]

According to the article on neon genesis evangelion the Ramage is featured in an episode (being landed on by Asuka) Is this correct and if so should it be added in? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neon_Genesis_Evangelion_%28TV%29#TV (scroll to the bottom to see the picture and description of asuka landing on the ramage) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.104.226.174 (talk) 15:22, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It may be true, but it is not notable enough for inclusion in this article. However, there seems to be 12+ years of real history that is missing from the article, feel free to add that though. --Dual Freq (talk) 22:03, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah but that's kind of boring: who defined "notable"; you? Because I think its quite notable. And so does our friend here; and that's 2 to 1; "consensus" rules. I'm never going to look up these "12 years of history"; what do you expect me to do, go out and read a full book on the subject in order to improve this article I currently know nothing about? Or maybe we could at least put in what we do currently know, even if just movie and TV references....isn't that a novelty?--Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici (talk) 00:07, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
References from reliable published sources establish notability. Nothing has been cited on this and a picture of some ship in a cartoon with a 61 on it is not a reference. If an entire cartoon episode focused on a ship named USS Ramage (DDG-61) and reliable sources stating it is an important part of the series can be produced, then I can see including it. Unsourced items mentioning a brief appearance of some ship with the number 61 on it, in a 10 year old cartoon, is certainly not a notable item for an encyclopedia article about USS Ramage (DDG-61). Is the ship even mentioned by name in the cartoon? How long is the ship featured in the episode? 5 seconds? 10 seconds? Is it the focus of the episode? If so, is there a reliable source that talks about that episode and Ramage's role and importance to the plot of that episode? --Dual Freq (talk) 01:08, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh I wasn't really trying to get this specific minor reference included in an article; this was more of a test: you yourself haven't actually added any information to this article in the past FIVE months, and yet you found the time to respond to a discussion page criticism of it within....(looks at timestamps)....literally one hour and one minute. The time you spent responding to my demand for more info could have been spent...I don't know, looking up more information? Or are you just here to play wikipedia-games and not do any "actual work" of contributing? You yourself said information is lacking from the article; why aren't you adding more information? I don't need middle-men. --Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici (talk) 14:16, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your extensive contributions to this article and your drive by comments on this matter. --Dual Freq (talk) 00:08, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

2011 Deployment

[edit]

I'm surprised there is no mention of the Mediterranean deployment that took place between May, 2011 and January, 2012. Perhaps some info could be added on this. Wslupecki (talk) 13:11, 31 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
