Size of crew?

[edit]

I'm wondering about the source of the data for the ship's complement in the infobox. This official Navy site lists a complement of 420 (24 officers, 396 enlisted) plus a Marine detachment of 900. Unless a more authoritative source can be cited I propose to change the infobox. --MCB 20:43, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I cannot account for the "Flag" staff, as I cannot find a listing for this anywhere, but see this site, USS Nashville @ NVR, for official information pertaining to the actual ship. The site you listed is a generic overview of the LPD classes, even if it is linked from the Nashville's home page (due to a lackluster PAO or webmaster?). For the time being, I'd propose removing the "90 Flag Staff" as that seems suspect (more flag staff than officers?). I also don't believe that the Marine detachment should be included, as number embarked can vary significantly with a given mission. In any case (and kind of a self-note), there is some work to be done to the article, hopefully I'll be able to deal with it soon. I also need to find an infobox to replace the manual one currently in place. More disturbingly, I see that something has been significantly damaged on the site, as the Cleveland is listed on it's home site as being an Austin-class vessel, and not the lead vessel of its own class. Any thoughts on this? -- Huntster T@C 23:15, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for checking this out. I didn't find that NVR page -- only the overview of the Austin class linked from the home page. Defintely the "90 Flag Staff" should not be there; it makes no sense and was probably an error. Best, --MCB 00:37, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

If that's a 13 on the stern of that ship, I'm a hippopotamus. That's the Trenton in that picture. Sonar1313 04:33, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, nice catch. I'll work on getting this fixed. -- Huntster T@C 08:27, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, issue has been taken care of. Basically located an entirely new set of images for the Nashville. -- Huntster T@C 19:11, 11 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
