Background
[edit]I copied the General Characteristics information from the USS Gilliam article, but I'm not sure if all the information applies to the USS Catron.
I found something at the Dictionary of American Naval Fighting Ships site that I'm not sure how to interpret:
(APA-71 dp. 4,247; 1. 426'; b. 58'; dr. 16'; s. 17 k.; cpl. 820, a. 1 6"; cl. Gilliam)
Is "cpl." compliment? If so, then the that information in the table needs to change. Also, if "a." is armament, then, again, the table would have to be changed. Zaui 22:36, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
---My Grandpa (Eno) was a "Plankmen" Navigator on the U.S.S. Catron and the ship has reportedly dodged one Japanese torpedo attack and survived one Kamakazi attack. He has in his possesion the singed Amaerican flag that was pulled from the deck after the Atomic testing. -Aaron —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.58.2.83 (talk) 18:05, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
