Captain Henry Prince

[edit]

Hi, there are a few 404 links that are connected to references about a Captain Henry Prince...

I'm wondering if this has any relation to this Henry Prince who participated in the Mexican American war as well as worked as a US Army paymaster. I couldn't find any connection to the ship when doing his biography, but I'd be curious to see those sources to confirm if we could find working links for them. Henry Prince was a Revenue-Marine officer ( later United States Revenue Cutter Service ) that served from June 1832 to June 1846. I have no more information on Prince. My source for dates served is:
  • Noble, Dennis L. (1990). Historical Register U.S. Revenue Cutter Service Officers, 1790–1914. Coast Guard Historian's Office, U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters, Washington, DC. p. 58.
The book is a rare one that is out of print but there is an online version at this link:

I doubt that the two Henry Prince's are related. For general information, the rank of that of a Revenue-Marine captain is much higher than that of an Army captain. I did update the Record of Movements link that was dead. Cuprum17 (talk) 19:48, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
