I have rewritten this from scratch. I have written in the present tense, because I'm not sure if the UPIC is still in operation; there are examples and live performances on the internet from as recently as 2005, and also these photos here, but it may just be a piece of software now. I wonder what happened to the original computer. Also, there should be a small description of the relation between CEMAMu, Les Ateliers UPIC, and CCMIX, which seems to be the machine's current home. I assume that CEMAMu became Les Ateliers UPIC which became CCMIX, but I don't know for sure. -Ashley Pomeroy14:47, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
