Series Contiuning?

[edit]

The only reason I can figure that the show has stopped airring is because of UFO Hunters on the History Channel. I've never heard of two shows running at the same time to have the exact same name. Can anyone shead some light on this? --Crash Underride 17:15, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure what is going on. The show still has a page at SciFi's website (at least at the time of writing this), but it may be a legal conflict with History Channel or it could be that the show's pilot didn't do as well with the ratings and it's already been canned. It seems more people are into ghosts than aliens. Cyberia23 (talk) 10:19, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm into both so that's why I'm wonderin'....granted I prefer UFO Hunters on The History Channel lol. --Crash Underride 21:02, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmm, I guess there is a legal showdown over the name then. They should just let SciFi have "UFO Hunters" to coincide with the sister show "Ghost Hunters". History Channel originally calling their show "UFO Road Trip" and then jumping on "UFO Hunters" with a trademark because of SciFi Channel's show is complete dick on their part. I think we need to find some information about it and add it to the article. Crash Underride 22:56, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, but I'm not sure where to look find an accurate source for something like that. Neither SciFi nor History Channel has anything about the name issue on their website. All I know is the H-Channel's show is still running as scheduled and SciFi apparently is rescheduling. Also if we did find more info on it, which page should it go on? The SciFi's UFO Hunters or H-Channel's? Or both? Cyberia23 (talk) 15:10, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know if you saw, but I put some new refs on here. I say we just use those on the H-Channel one too. Seems logical as they aren't from either site. --Crash Underride 01:11, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I saw. Thanks. Cyberia23 (talk) 07:08, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

—SciFi did not pull the show due to legal issues, it was only a pilot and no additional shows had been ordered. THC continues to run its show because they had 13 episodes ordered and produced. SciFi has not made a decision yet as to the fate of its UFO Hunters show. Those wishing to provide feedback to the network or get more information may do so by contacting them at feedback@scifi.com. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.248.158.162 (talk) 19:30, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is there any sourced info to back up anonymous's claim? From what I've read sci-fi hasn't canceled the show but are simply delaying it until History Channel is done airing theirs. I doubt they'd can the show when they let boring crap like Psychic at Large run six episodes before it was dropped. Cyberia23 (talk) 08:30, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hell, I don't know what's up with the show. I just wish they could act like grown adults! I'm so sick of it lol.Crash Underride 01:13, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

-The show will be returning under the name NY-SPI Investigates to the channel Investigation Discovery (ID) and will air on Saturday, December 13 at 10PM (EST). The show will contain never before shown footage that the other channel didn't want viewers to see. For more information go to www.ny-spi.com —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.190.151.158 (talk)

You could have just added this to the article. Cyberia23 (talk) 21:29, 27 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
