Disciplinary points
[edit]As per regulations [1]:
- Article 20 Equality of points – final tournament group stage
- 20.01 g) lower disciplinary points total based only on yellow and red cards received by players and team officials in all group matches (red card = 3 points, yellow card = 1 point, expulsion for two yellow cards in one match = 3 points);
I think, team official's yellow card must be counted.Tomcsy (talk) 21:18, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
- The reason why Denmark was ranked higher than Slovenia was not the discipline points. see here. -- Iri1388 (talk) 23:26, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
- From UEFA official site: "Denmark are through to the round of 16 as group runners-up (finishing ahead of Slovenia on disciplinary points)." Tomcsy (talk) 00:13, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
Is 2 goals the worst ever by a group winner?
[edit]might be worth seeing if there's any source to confirm 80.192.242.40 (talk) 21:42, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
- No, UEFA Euro 2020 Group D, England. Tomcsy (talk) 13:17, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
Fair Play points
[edit]Are we sure that "yellow card followed by direct red card = 4 points"?
I can't find it on regulations.
In my opinion in that case are 3 points for the red card only ("only one of the deductions was applied to a player or team official in a single match").
Thank you and sorry for my poor English. FRacco (talk) 05:33, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
- In the regulations: "red card = 3 points, yellow card = 1 point, expulsion for two yellow cards in one match = 3 points"
- There is no exact rule for a single yellow+single red card situation. But there are rules, separate for a single yellow card and separate for a single red card. So, in my opinion the first yellow card 1 point, the single red card 3 points, 1+3 = 4 points.Tomcsy (talk) 13:16, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
- I agree with you, but we are talking about our opinions. The regulation is not clear, I would delete this point (yellow+red card).
- Also, we have to delete "only one of the deductions was applied to a player or team official in a single match". In your example infact you apply 2 deductions to a single player in a single match. FRacco (talk) 16:02, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
