Possible provisional squads?

[edit]

Hi, I notice that players in the recent call-ups sections of the Belgium, Croatia and Poland articles have players who were named in preliminary squads prior to the announcement of the final one. Normally we'd have prose under these countries saying, for example, "Belgium named a 30-man preliminary squad on 16 May. They named their final squad on 25 May." We just have final squads referenced for those countries. I can't find references for these preliminary squads, but I thought I'd flag it in case anyone else can. Cheers, HornetMike (talk) 13:15, 25 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

HornetMike, that seems to be referring to the stand-by lists of these national teams, in case of injury. There were actually no preliminary squads announced for these countries, they published their final squad and stand-by players at the same time. S.A. Julio (talk) 10:55, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction and COVID

[edit]

I think the introduction paragraph might be too long. We can make that shorter by adding a section called "COVID-19 protocol" or something like that and put paragraph 2. Do the same thing with paragraph 3 (squad expansion); put it in a section called "expansion of squads". Bwmdjeff (talk) 19:45, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Collapsible/expandable table of Player representation - By Club

[edit]

A few days ago I added statistics table "By club" in "Player representation", which obviously was quite long. It's shortened since then, but maybe it would be a good idea to hide the extra data in collapsible table, so statistic geeks would be able to read it if the want to it, but without bothering others, who prefer shorter version? Food for thought. Red Devil (talk) 12:29, 7 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Anyone? Any thoughts? If there's no objection, I'd like to proceed with this :) Red Devil (talk) 06:11, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think we should be hiding data within a collapsible table. Either it's important for the article or it's not, and my argument is that we only really need to know the clubs that provided the most players; while the ones that provided the least players are interesting to an extent, it's not encyclopaedically important, and we probably shouldn't include content just for "statistic geeks" (of which I am one, and even I disagree with the inclusion of that info). – PeeJay 10:31, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Remarkable pages

[edit]

I'm not even a football follower but I can see there has been some pretty hard work gone into this. I think you all deserve a pat on the back Cannonmc (talk) 11:13, 11 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

This page says that the youngest outfield player is Kacper Kozłowski (16 Oct 2003) but based on the birthdays listed, Jude Bellingham (from England) (29 June 2003) is the youngest outfield player Here is the link for the Jude Bellingham information and the link for Kacper Kozłowski 216.60.191.145 (talk) 16:46, 15 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You realise October is after June, right? Which means Kozlowski is younger than Bellingham... – PeeJay 16:49, 15 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Miranchuk

[edit]

Miranchuk is a midfielder. Please edit the role. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.44.104.148 (talk) 21:39, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

All positions listed are per the UEFA.com squad lists. S.A. Julio (talk) 12:47, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

In UEFA website Miranchuk is a midfielder (https://www.uefa.com/uefanationsleague/teams/57451--russia/squad/). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Beppenbauer (talkcontribs) 13:59, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, it seems UEFA have changed some of the player positions since the squad pages were initially published on 2 June. S.A. Julio (talk) 15:41, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Manchester United have 11 players

[edit]

It says Dylan Levitt of Wales is an Istra 1961 player when infact his loan is over and he has returned to Manchester United, that also mean Manchester United have 11 players at the competition and not 10 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Markaconda (talkcontribs) 00:12, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

See the opening paragraphs of the article: The club listed is the club for which the player last played a competitive match prior to the tournament. S.A. Julio (talk) 12:47, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please change MIRANCHUK role in MF like UEFA list (https://www.uefa.com/uefanationsleague/teams/57451--russia/squad/) Thank you. Beppenbauer (talk) 14:12, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 14:27, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
LOL, I'm pretty sure the request was fairly straightforward, so I've done it. – PeeJay 15:35, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Donny van de Beek

[edit]

It must be put on the roster since in the official lists he still appears and in case he could recover he could play

The KNVB confirmed his withdrawal, he does not need to be listed on the article. S.A. Julio (talk) 08:19, 18 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

ok, I hope you also delete Christian Eriksen and Timothy Castagne

Players cannot be removed from the roster unless they are replaced by others, there are countless cases in other European and World Cups — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eduardo5890 (talkcontribs) 19:31, 18 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Both those players were in their national team squads for the first matchday, it would be inaccurate to remove them. The KNVB decided to remove Van de Beek from their squad prior to the start of the tournament, we should reflect that here. S.A. Julio (talk) 19:48, 18 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

but he has not been removed from the official list, he keeps showing up and in a remote case he could play

https://www.uefa.com/uefaeuro-2020/teams/95--netherlands/squad/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eduardo5890 (talkcontribs) 19:13, 19 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Again, he may still be on the UEFA.com list, but the KNVB confirmed his withdrawal from the squad, and only had a squad of 25 players from the start of the tournament. S.A. Julio (talk) 22:31, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

data source

[edit]

Is there an excel or csv where you have all the players? How was this data collected? By manually typing it from the UEFA pages? --85.212.115.9 (talk) 10:49, 30 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
