Lincoln Highway
[edit]US route 93 Alternate was never part of the Lincoln Highway, rather the Lincoln Highway ran along the route of US 93 from Ely to Shellbourne Ranch. The Lincoln Highway then turned east and ran through Anderson Ranch, Tippett Ranch, and Ibapah before entering Utah. <Complete Official Road Guide to the Lincoln Highway - 1924 map> <http://lincolnhighway.jameslin.name/by_state/nv.html> —Preceding unsigned comment added by Welder3078 (talk • contribs) 22:41, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
- The original routing cut east to Ibapah as indicated (on what was then NV SR 2). This particular portion east of US 93, according to historical NDOT maps, was never paved when it was in Nevada's state highway system. I believe the Lincoln Highway was rerouted after US 50 (present-day US 93 & US 93 Alt) was paved and signed through Wendover. An image on the above-linked website seems to confirm this, and the route using Alt 93 is listed on the Wikipedia page covering the Lincoln Highway route. --LJ (talk) 21:53, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
