[edit]US 240 went from Washington to Harrisburg in the 1926 plan, but by early 1927 the part north of Frederick was US 15. Apparently Maryland posted it as US 240, but Pennsylvania waited until 1927 (due to unrelated objections - see U.S. Route 111 for an example) and thus posted US 15. In 1930, there was a "mass meeting" in Frederick to urge the "retention" of US 240 to Gettysburg: [2] --NE2 02:49, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
