- Regarding the first sentence, is 10 days that long-lived?
- Changed. YE Pacific Hurricane 05:06, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- "Although Nancy initially moved north, Nancy maintain a general westward course for much of its duration" - grammar, and don't say "Nancy" twice
- Fixed both :P YE Pacific Hurricane 05:06, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- "striking Luzon on October 14 at peak intensity" - which is?
- See the infobox. Don't wanna bring the double agency thing into the lead.
- "but re-intensified to typhoon " - add "status" after "typhoon"
- I'd prefer to say "intensity". Is that fine? YE Pacific Hurricane 05:06, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- "Nancy hit northern Vietnam on the October 18, and weakened almost immediately thereafter. The typhoon dissipated on October 20 inland over Vietnam. - merge
- How is calculator.com used?
- Same way you use any other website.
- "After striking Vietnam, a total of 30 people perished. " - 30 people perished after striking Vietnam?
- Changed to "while". YE Pacific Hurricane 05:06, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- "Around 72,00 homes" - 7,200 or 72,000?
- Latter probs. YE Pacific Hurricane 05:06, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- "Typhoon Nancy originated from a large area of convection situated far from land" - far from land could mean in the southern Atlantic Ocean...
- Better, worse, or the same? YE Pacific Hurricane 05:06, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- " The TUTT drifted west while the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) that a tropical depression" - missing verb
- " Nancy maintained its intensity for 24 hours while tracking northward" - did it turn northward? It doesn't look like it
- Due to much of the basin using km/h, you should use metric for all units. Only the US, Myanmar, and Liberia use the imperial system
- Old habit, should be okay now. YE Pacific Hurricane 05:06, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- So are units in the article in 1-min or something?
- Read the note :P YE Pacific Hurricane 05:06, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- "135 mph (217 km/h)" is inconsistent with the peak in the lede
- Nope, you meant the infobox :P Anyhow, fixed. YE Pacific Hurricane 05:06, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- "as it entered a favorable "strong mid and upper-level circulation pattern" - can you find a way to write this without a quote?
- "Moving generally west due to the influence of both a subtropical ridge to the north of Nancy and "monsoonal flow",[1] the JMA raised the intensity of Nancy to 80 mph (130 km/h) on October 16" - the movement should be mentioned much earlier in the article. Right here, it has nothing to do with JMA's intensity estimate
- Removed per your comment two comments below. YE Pacific Hurricane 05:06, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- "Hai-Nan" --> "Hainan"
- "The moved on a slow northwesterly track along the southern periphery of the ridge." - aside from that it's missing a word, this is largely redundant from what you said a few lines before about the ridge
- Added the missing verb that was hiding under my bed :P YE Pacific Hurricane 05:06, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- You should clarify that Nancy actually dissipated
- Eh, we have no proof of that via BT. I don't think it's vauge anyway. YE Pacific Hurricane 05:06, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- resulting in "a wide swath of destruction" - again, the quote isn't really needed. Just find a way to write it normally
- Does "widespread destruction" work? YE Pacific Hurricane 05:06, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- "Preliminary estimates suggest a damage total of $26 million." - we usually don't mention preliminary damage totals, so why here?
- I like to put it in, but just for you, I eliminated it. YE Pacific Hurricane 05:06, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- "81 of the fatalities were from just three provinces,[18] Most of the deaths were by drowning." - is this meant to be a comma? Or something?
- A period? Ever hear of of it? :P YE Pacific Hurricane 05:06, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- "Upon making landfall in central Vietnam, winds of 87 mph (140 km/h) were measured. " - this winds made landfall? And where were the winds recorded?
- " Around 72,000 homes were destroyed; consequently, 125,000 people were left homeless in Vinh, the capital." - were those destroyed homes in Vinh? Otherwise, there shouldn't be a "consequently". Also, Hanoi is the capital, not Vinh...
- Fixed both. YE Pacific Hurricane 05:06, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- Maybe explain Vera 83's relation?
All in all, pretty decent. Just some simple things here to do. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 04:37, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
