However
(see WP:EDITORIALIZING)- Looking at the context, I don't see how this contrast is editorializing. "in part because the subtropical ridge was anticipated to remain anchored north of the system. However, this ridge proved to be weaker than expected and Irving tracked slowly northwestward instead." The source say the storm move in a certain direction but it moved in a different direction instead. That's an indisputable contrast. YE Pacific Hurricane
