First thing I'd like to say is that I am an absolutely massive fan of Type O Negative- it would be fair to say that they are pretty much the only metal band that I still listen to, after having gone through a metal phase a few years ago. However, I'm afraid I am going to have to quick-fail this article at this stage, based on sourcing. There are large swathes of unsourced text (for instance, nearly the entirety of "Soundtracks and covers"), including citation needed tags (several in "Slow Deep and Hard and The Origin of the Feces (1991–1992)"). The sources that are cited are, in a number of cases, inappropriate.

  • Wiktionary, as a wiki, is completely unreliable as a source.
  • YouTube is not a publisher, it is a host. Further, YouTube videos should be avoided because of copyright problems. One of the cited videos has been removed.
  • Primary sources are to be avoided where possible.

Some of the sources- Yahoo, the published books, the magazines, Blabbermouth- are completely appropriate. However, they are not enough, alone. The article also has other serious issues. For instance:

  • The "liner notes" section in the gimmicks comes across completely as original research.
  • The one sound clip lacks a non-free use rationale
  • A real formatting issue in the "Audio gags" section
  • Genre-warrior edit-warring.
  • Disambiguation links
  • POV: "enormous following", "Rise to fame", "the label upon a better offer"
  • Sloppy writing: "it depicted a man's anus (believed to be Steele)", "his purely straight stance on his sexuality", "the band is no more"

I hope these comments help you see where the article needs to be improved before it is ready for GAN. If you're looking for help, try Wikipedia:WikiProject Metal, and take a look at some articles on similar subjects at a high level- Metallica, Slayer, Meshuggah, Strapping Young Lad or Opeth, for instance.
