I will remove the wierd link: "A pregnant goldfish, according to a (false) urban legend" --BorisFromStockdale 02:00, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, it went back in; I took it out, but now the blasted thing's back again. It really looks like nonsense to me--I'm taking it out, along with something about an Internet forum argument. Iralith 18:26, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps the urban legend should be mentioned on this page so that people don't keep listing it.--Mitaphane talk 21:19, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think it could be noted that goldfish are technically fish. They don't get pregnant, they lay eggs. oTHErONE (Contribs) 12:33, 6 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can't type properly?

[edit]

Is the most signifigent defintion of TWIT "A person who can't type properly"? Is it not more to do with interlect? Maybe there should be a TWIT (stupid) page sepratly, so this can be just a disinbiguation page for twit (stupid) and twit (this week in tech) Alan2here 20:03, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

...Irony. oTHErONE (Contribs) 07:17, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

TWiT.tv

[edit]

I believe that someone should add a link to the podcasting network TWiT.tv that host and goes by the same name as podcast. --Bob12321 07:18, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request

[edit]

There is an WP: edit filter around the term "idiot". Since "twit" is a synonym for "idiot", the article Idiot should appear on the list. Please add an entry for that article to the list.

ie.

  • An idiot also known as a twit

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. -- Asartea Talk | Contribs 13:55, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This is a common term Cambridge Dictionaries clearly shows this meaning. -- TWIT - synonyms: half-wit, idiot, twerp, twirp -- 65.92.246.191 (talk) 07:25, 30 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think this is appropriate. We already link to the wiktionary definitions. We are not going to link to articles like taunt or fool or tease just because this word also has those meanings. – Jonesey95 (talk) 14:16, 30 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It's one of the reasons redirects exist, to redirect from a different name for the term. If there are multiple topics with the same name, we have disambiguation pages. Therefore this item should appear on this page. "Fool" is a disambiguation page, and the meaning for twit from "fool" is our article at idiot. As for tease and taunt, those are verb forms not noun forms. They (verb forms) should appear at the gerund form twitting like how other verb form word terms seem to work, as our articles for tease and taunt exist as gerund form pagenames teasing and taunting -- 65.92.246.191 (talk) 19:46, 30 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
