[edit]- Removed redirect from Turtling to this page then moved Turtling (sailing) and Turtling (hunting) to the newly independant Turtling page
- Removed red links Turtle (actor) and Turtle (Gunbound)
- Removed any references to topics which lacked coverage in Wikipedia
- Removed links to pages that simply contained the word "turtle", "turtles" in their titles, (ex: Turtle dove, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) or links to pages for topics that include turtle-related terms (ex: Shellback, red-eared slider) because one would not use simply the word "turtle" to search for pages on such specific topics
- The point of a disambiguation page is not to provide every possible definition or use of a particular word; disambiguation pages are meant to assist a Wikipedia user in finding an existing page whose topic is the actual word (or combination of words) used in their search query.
- Please see Wikipedia:Disambiguation and Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages) for more info.

- I was looking for the "Turtles", as the TMNT are often called, and ended up at Turtle, which is the way it's supposed to be. I click the link to the disambiguation page, but still don't get a link to the Turtles, which isn't user friendly. I agree not everything with the word "turtle" in it should be added, but the Turtles should be. Retodon8 (talk) 23:56, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
- No. As I suggested in the page's history, dabs are not directories. Ergo, the purpose of this page is not to list every item with the word "turtle(s)" in it. Lord Sesshomaru (talk • edits) 00:56, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
I didn't see the page's history, saw this Talk page. You mentioned "consensis" in your last edit, but like I wrote above, I do agree random "turtle" things shouldn't be here. I just think the TMNT should be in the list, because they are often referred to as simply the Turtles. Perhaps this is a geographical thing. The very beginnings of both articles linked above describe why I did what I did, basically to make things easier to find for people. Do you disagree that somebody looking for the TMNT may just enter "turtles"? I know I did, expecting to find the exactly named article in a DAB page. Like I said, that link would've helped me, and I suspect others. That's a positive side. Which rule does the TMNT link break exactly? Where's the negative side?
Also some enemy characters from the Flash cartoons are still in the article. The Flash really isn't popular over here, so maybe my view is somewhat skewed, but how are some minor (if I read it right) bad guys more important to list than the TMNT? What about "The Great and Powerful Turtle" who happens to have the word "Turtle" in the name. Or "Ancient Order of Turtles"? Retodon8 (talk) 19:43, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- (EC) - Are they also known as "The Turtles"? You'll need to cite that in one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles articles. If what you say is verifiable information, it can warrant inclusion. Lord Sesshomaru (talk • edits) 19:51, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
