[edit]Endnutzung: I don't know, if there is a single English word for it, but as far as I understand it means the harvest of a wood stock, which has reached the long-term planned harvest age. The Endnutzung is mostly followed by reforestation.
Vornutzung is the harvest of single trees before the Endnutzung of the whole forest part.
Maybe some terms correspond to the terms explained in the silviculture article (I don't fully understand that article).

- After reading the German Endnutzung article I think you're right, Tirkfl. Endnutzung is indeed the complete harvest of a wood stock, which has reached the long-term planned harvest age, and Vornutzung is the partial harvest of branches, single trees or groups of trees before the stage of Endnutzung. The german terms are not really equivalent to the silviculture article's terms. These center more on maintanance and supervision of forests, whilst the german terms point towards a more economical sense. So I think your translations clearcutting and selection cutting are entirely appropriate. --Jo (talk) 11:32, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
Automated peer-review
[edit]The following suggestions were generated by a semi-automatic javascript program, and might not be applicable for the article in question.
- Please expand the lead to conform with guidelines at Wikipedia:Lead. The article should have an appropriate number of paragraphs as is shown on WP:LEAD, and should adequately summarize the article.[?]
- Per Wikipedia:Context and Wikipedia:Manual of Style (dates), months and days of the week generally should not be linked. Years, decades, and centuries can be linked if they provide context for the article.[?]
- If there is not a free use image in the top right corner of the article, please try to find and include one.[?]
- Per Wikipedia:Manual of Style (numbers), there should be a non-breaking space -
between a number and the unit of measurement. For example, instead of 33 metre, use 33 metre, which when you are editing the page, should look like: 33 metre.[?] - When writing standard abbreviations, the abbreviations should not have a 's' to demark plurality (for example, change kms to km and lbs to lb).
- Per Wikipedia:Manual of Style (headings), headings generally do not start with articles ('the', 'a(n)'). For example, if there was a section called ==The Biography==, it should be changed to ==Biography==.[?]
- Generally, trivia sections are looked down upon; please either remove the trivia section or incorporate any important facts into the rest of the article.[?]
- Per WP:WIAFA, this article's table of contents (ToC) may be too long – consider shrinking it down by merging short sections or using a proper system of daughter pages as per Wikipedia:Summary style.[?]
- Watch for redundancies that make the article too wordy instead of being crisp and concise. (You may wish to try Tony1's redundancy exercises.)
- While additive terms like “also”, “in addition”, “additionally”, “moreover”, and “furthermore” may sometimes be useful, overusing them when they aren't necessary can instead detract from the brilliancy of the article. This article has 24 additive terms, a bit too much.
- This article needs footnotes, preferably in the cite.php format recommended by WP:WIAFA. Simply, enclose inline citations, with WP:CITE or WP:CITE/ES information, with <ref>THE FOOTNOTE</ref>. At the bottom of the article, in a section named “References” or “Footnotes”, add
<div class="references-small"><references/></div>
.[?] - The article will need references. See WP:CITE and WP:V for more information.[?]
- Please ensure that the article has gone through a thorough copyediting so that it exemplifies some of Wikipedia's best work. See also User:Tony1/How to satisfy Criterion 1a.[?]
