missed shot results in turnover?

[edit]

According to this article "missing the shot and not having a good enough team to keep the ball in their possesion" is one way of getting a turnover. While failing to get an offensive rebound certainly results in the other team getting the ball, as far as I know this does not count as a turnover. at least in the statistical sense. Instead, it is a defensive rebound. Wschart (talk) 00:31, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"In basketball, a turnover occurs when a player from one team gives possession to a member of another team by losing the ball." So, if the offensive player tries to rebound, but knocks the ball out of bounds, it's a turnover. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Owen Kessler (talkcontribs) 07:46, 10 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
