"First #1 Soul Single to Miss the Hot 100 Since 1955"?
"... it holds the distinction of being the first number one soul single to fail to make the Hot 100 since 1955."
First of all, the Billboard Hot 100 was not introduced until August of 1958. Does anyone know of any number-one R&B singles during 1955 that failed to enter the "Best Sellers"/"Most Played" charts (the two U.S. pop singles charts that existed prior to the Hot 100's creation)? Also, prior to "Turning Point", there have already been a few #1 R&B/Soul singles that failed to reach the Billboard Hot 100's Top 40. Jim856796 (talk) 06:45, 16 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
