Orphaned references in Turn On the Lights (song)
[edit]I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Turn On the Lights (song)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 21:58, 19 June 2015 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: not moved. Good arguments by Steel1943 and Darkday. Jenks24 (talk) 10:02, 30 October 2017 (UTC)
Turn On the Lights (song) → Turn on the Lights (song) – Article titling fails the WP:MOS and WP:TITLE guidelines. MindsEyeTHPS (talk) 19:32, 22 October 2017 (UTC)
- Comment: Because the song and album are from different artists, disambiguating it as (song) is probably necessary. The real question here is whether "On" should be capitalized; if not, then the album with the same title should probably also be part of this move request. ONR (talk) 20:29, 22 October 2017 (UTC)
- Forgive me, but I was gonna affix "(song)" to the end of the new title. MindsEyeTHPS (talk) 21:15, 22 October 2017 (UTC)
Comment:If I recall, there have been past discussions of a similar nature regarding the capitalization of the word "On", but the consensus of those discussions was to leave the word "On" capitalized since it is not used as a preposition. (At the present time, I cannot find/recall any of those discussions.) Steel1943 (talk) 21:18, 24 October 2017 (UTC)- Oppose since the phrase "Turn On" is a transitive verb; the word "On" as used in this title is not a preposition. Steel1943 (talk) 21:27, 24 October 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose: Steel1943 is right: turn on is a phrasal verb, so on is an adverb particle here, not a preposition. And thus, as per MOS:CT, it must be capitalized. Darkday (talk) 18:19, 27 October 2017 (UTC)
