Turk Pipkin Early History
[edit]I don't have any documentation that would qualify me to edit this article, but when I first encountered Turk in the 1970s, he was doing mime and, as I recollect, juggling in Austin, Texas. Perhaps someone who knows him could shed more light on this for the article. It seems unlikely that there could be more than one person who goes by that name. It would be a shame to lose that part of his history. I remember seeing Harry Anderson performing comedy and magic in Austin around that time, as well. Thank you. 68.186.98.221 (talk) 08:15, 18 January 2023 (UTC)
- I met him casually at a couple of parties. He was a fine juggler. In a performance at the "Saturday Morning Fun Club" where people watched old classic movies, he juggled silk handkerchiefs. It looked like one of them got away, but he caught it with his foot. At an Eeyore's Birthday Party in Pease Park, I saw him juggle an apple, a hatchet and a flaming torch, and take bites out of the apple. It was astonishing. Yes, it's too bad that his career begins in 1983 according to this article. He was a local celebrity at least 10 years before that. Wastrel Way (talk) Eric
