"It may be reported on the box that the graphics card has 128MiB or 256MiB. This figure often includes the system memory used with the memory on the graphics card, which may be as little as 64MiB or 32MiB."
I'm fairly certain they won't print those crazy new units on the side of the box, but I guess that's what they mean. I wonder if the Mebibyte will ever be used anywhere besides wikipedia. --Johnruble 19:19, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
Is it Wikipedia policy to use these units? By the way, I have a 128MB 6200TC in work for testing components, it only has 16MB onboard - even the video BIOS splash says so. But Windows reports 128, obviously after the system RAM is "stolen." Karsini 19:36, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
- I don't think it's policy as such... I just think it's one of those things (like AD/CE) that a few editors get so worked up about that they can't bear not to change! *grins* 86.136.251.18 03:28, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
