Pitched or unpitched
[edit]The tuned anvil is presumably pitched percussion, while the anvils used in all the pieces with which I am familiar are unpitched.
But I notice that at least one of the pieces in the target article section does use pitched anvils. Wagner! I know pitched anvils are available, albeit unusual. It would be good to cite more works that use them. Andrewa (talk) 18:38, 16 January 2013 (UTC)

[edit]None of good RSS quality, but all interesting and informative.
- http://humanities.music.composers.wagner.narkive.com/MYkgZBZl/18-tuned-anvils A newsgroup archive that gives Wagner's instructions for the 18 tuned anvils.
- http://products.kolberg-percussion.com/en_GB/623/product/255.html Supplier of the modern instrument, not LAPR but seems to be the same instrument as theirs, and very different to Wagner's anvils.
- http://www.lapercussionrentals.com/infopage_erc.html Yeah, the dreaded and much discussed LAPR site! But what it says appears to be accurate and informative.

More to follow I hope. Andrewa (talk) 11:02, 18 January 2013 (UTC)
