[edit]I am concerned this article deals with far more than the Mutiny of Aranjuez. Shouldn't it end with the consequences of the mutiny and point to other Wikipedia pages on the lead up to the Peninsular War? I am a noob.Janifrax12 (talk) 20:23, 16 March 2014 (UTC)

What about the Revolt of the Comuneros? Who considers it the first?--189.62.165.249 (talk) 01:58, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
History of Spain:It was only in Spanish Constitution of 1812 that the name "Españas" for the Spanish kingdom and the use of the title of "King of the Spains" were officially adopted. Previously it had been the Spanish Empire and then The Bourbon Spanish Empire: reform and recovery (1700–1808) which ruled by royal decree and favoritism - which led to the El Escorial conspiracy and the mutiny of Aranjuez. I guess the Napoleon adventures sparked these preliminaries which led to Spanish democracy and the modern state - hence 'first'. Timpo (talk) 15:32, 5 September 2012 (UTC)
