Problems with article as of 2006-10-25
[edit]Well, where to start?
First off someone wiped out the part of her being to Oxford. No explanation of course. The list of notable alumini of St Hilda's of Oxford lists her thusly:
- Tsuda Umeko dec. - founder of Japan's first private women's school of higher education
Secondly the entry on Tsuda College describes her as a novelist. No mention of that here.
Also the link Tsudajuku University redirects at Tsuda College, how about a clarification?
The part about her becoming a Christian was wiped, it is relevant regarding the cultural shock she experienced on returning to Japan.
The Dutch article is far more substantial.
This article is systematically vandalised as shown above and the Wikipedia process does not catch it. --20:57, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
- History of the file on Tsuda Umeko does not agree with unknown user's assertation that this article has been 'systematically vandalised', however, I agree that it was sadly lacking when compared with the Japanese wikipedia entry. Some of the 'problem' mentioned above have been rectified. 'Tsudajuku' is Japanese for 'Tsuda College'-no mystery here.--MChew 15:20, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
Name issues as of 2020-11-10
[edit]Is there a reason for the article to sometimes refer to her as Tsuda Umeko and sometimes as Tsuda Ume? My intuition is to be consistent as Tsuda Umeko throughout, but if anyone has a relevant style guideline to offer I'd appreciate it.
