Lead and infobox
  • I would revise (from his primary school life in Japan) to (from primary school life in Japan). I do not see how “his” is necessary.
    • Done
  • This sentence (The series follows Tsubasa's growth from his primary school life in Japan, where he plays for the fictional team Nankatsu, to his adult life when he plays internationally in teams such as Brazil's São Paulo FC as a young adult and later in Spain's FC Barcelona, and also returns to Japan to play in the national team.) is very long. I would cut into smaller parts.
    • Done.
  • I am not sure about this part (some of whom have been accidentally imitated the character's playing techniques). Instead of “accidentally imitated”, wouldn’t it be more accurate to say something along the lines of critics or media outlets have connected the character’s playing techniques to this character?

Creation and development
  • I am not sure about the caption (Tsubasa has been influenced by Kazuyoshi Miura.). It makes it sound like the character himself was influenced by Miura. I would clarify that Yōichi Takahashi was influenced by Kazuyoshi Miura for the creation of the character.
    • Done
  • For this part (In World Youth a new character), add a comma between “World Youth” and “a new character”.
    • Done
  • For this sentence (Because of Tsubasa's inexperience, real-life player Rivaldo becomes his mentor. Takahashi compared Tsubasa with Lionel Messi—another Barcelona player.), please rearrange the references in the right order.
    • Done
Appearances
  • I would revise this sentence (Tsubasa's first appearance was as the protagonist of the manga Captain Tsubasa that Takahashi started writing in 1981.) to (Tsubasa first appeared as the protagonist of the manga Captain Tsubasa, which Takahashi started writing in 1981.).
    • Done.
  • Move the World Youth link up to the “Creation and development” section, where it is first mentioned. The same comment applies to Road to 2002.
    • Done.
  • I have a comment about the following part (This one-shot was adapted into an original video animation (OVA), in which Tsubasa can only assist Japan during the game's second half due to his late arrival). I would avoid starting a sentence with “This”. I would swap it out with “The”.
    • Done,
Reception
  • For the image caption (A statue of Tsubasa in Katsushika, Tokyo.), punctuation is not needed as it is a sentence fragment.
    • Done.
  • I would revise this sentence (Barcelona FC expressed delight at Tsubasa's joining of its fictional counterpart because of the impact the character had, while Real Madrid made a protest about it.) as it seems awkwardly worded to me, particularly this part “expressed delight at Tsubasa's joining of its fictional counterpart because of the impact the character had”.
    • Done.
  • I am not sure about this sentence (Several of Tsubasa's soccer techniques have been unintentionally imitated by real-life players such as Julian Draxler and Abel Hernández.). Is that they were imitiated this character “unintentionally” or that people compared their moves to the character? I feel like the second one is more likely.

  • I do not see the need for this section.

Final comments
  • Great work with this article. I honestly have not heard of this character or the manga so it was a fun read. Once my comments are addressed, I will pass this. I hope this helps. Aoba47 (talk) 18:16, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
