Reinheitsgebot
Like many German beers, Tsingtao is advertised with the marketing claim that it is brewed according to the 1516 Reinheitsgrebot (beer purtity law). As with all modern mass-produced beers, this claim is false, and does not belong in an encyclopedia unless is is labeled as a marketing claim rather than fact. Like the modern German breweries making this false claim, Tsingtao's products use yeast as an ingredient, which is not one of the three allowable ingredients in the law. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.154.231.131 (talk) 23:21, 9 September 2012 (UTC)
lol, reinheitsgebot allows yeast. brewers always used yeast in beer, they just didn't realize what they were doing until the 19th century when a general understanding of microorganisms developed.
if there's a reinheitsgebot issue with tsingtao, it's the use of rice and corn starch in place of barley malts. 140.254.92.63 (talk) 15:36, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
