- I can confirm that Australian (or at the very least in the state of Victoria) high school mathematics refer to it as a Truncus. Not sure if that's worth anything in terms of credibility, due to differing curriculums between countries. NimbleJack (talk) 08:06, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
- Many Australian high school mathematics curriculums often don't use the correct terminology, or in some cases merely make terminology up. There is not a single other reference to the truncus as the name for this type of curve outside of Australian high school mathematics curriculum.Gp469 (talk) 04:09, 28 March 2020 (UTC)
- There is reason to believe that this page shouldn't exist. There is not a single source that refers to this type of curve as a truncus, with the exception of some high school math curriculums, and pages that copy this wikipedia page vertabim. Gp469 (talk) 04:10, 28 March 2020 (UTC)
- I spent many hours looking for peer reviewed mathematical literature using this word truncus and couldn't find any. 220.253.116.31 (talk) 03:07, 6 April 2022 (UTC)
