Hello CB. I noticed this article sitting in the queue and decided to review it. Taking a look at it, I see some issues, albeit mostly minor things that probably can be fixed in a short amount of time.--12george1 (talk) 03:16, 15 April 2017 (UTC)
- "and Erika failed to strengthen beyond 50 mph (85 km/h)." - Maybe "beyond sustained winds of 50 mph"?
- Adjusted wording ~ Cyclonebiskit (chat) 21:51, 22 April 2017 (UTC)
- "southeast of the Cape Verde Islands the following day." - Aren't we referring to that archipelago as the Cabo Verde Islands now?
- Per a discussion that I can't find the link to right now, Wiki is keeping it as "Cape Verde". ~ Cyclonebiskit (chat) 21:51, 22 April 2017 (UTC)
- "It was also noted during those advisories that the center was completely devoid of convection, and most of the convection was reduced to the eastern half of the system." - [citation needed]
- Added ~ Cyclonebiskit (chat) 21:51, 22 April 2017 (UTC)
- "Erika posed the first significant hurricane threat to the state since Hurricane Wilma in 2005." - I'm not sure that source really backs up that statement, and as someone who has lived here all their life, I don't really agree with that. Just my opinion, but I think Hanna and Ike in 2008 posed bigger threats. Regardless, definitely keep the info about the increase in population since Wilma
- Removed the questionable statement. ~ Cyclonebiskit (chat) 21:51, 22 April 2017 (UTC)
- I know that impact was mostly minor across Florida, but you should elaborate more on that. Here's a few links:
- Erika's flood watch ends for South Florida; newly formed Hurricane Fred forecast to fizzle
- Remnants of Tropical Storm Erika soak Central Florida
- Remnants of Erika Continue to Bring Heavy Rain to Florida and Southeast (also has info for South Carolina)
- Expanded with NCEI information. ~ Cyclonebiskit (chat) 21:51, 22 April 2017 (UTC)
- A few of the references are deadlinks. I will quote the titles rather than give the numbers because the numbering will be off.
- "Florida governor declares state of emergency as Tropical Storm Erika nears; could hit Monday"
- "Tropical storm Erika drenches parched Cuba" - leads to a log-in page. I assume the url was simply changed. Btw, it appears there's two references with that title (possibly a duplicate)
- "Storm kills at least 20 in Dominica, blows through Caribbean" - Same situation
- "Erika soaks Puerto Rico after 4 killed in Dominica"
- "Shelter locations What you should bring Special needs shelters set up on St. Thomas and St. Croix Shelters ready to protect V.I. residents"
- "Tropical Storm Erika dissipates after killing 20 in Caribbean"
- "Vientos tormenta Erika arrasan con plantaciones plátanos en Valle de Azua"
- "Residents urged to seek shelter, ports close as Erika nears"
- Replaced all deadlinks with working alternatives. ~ Cyclonebiskit (chat) 21:51, 22 April 2017 (UTC)
All in all, a decent article. Just several deadlinks, a little bit more info needed, and mostly other (minor) changes--12george1 (talk) 03:16, 15 April 2017 (UTC)
- I think that covers everything! Thanks for the review, George. ~ Cyclonebiskit (chat) 21:51, 22 April 2017 (UTC)
- Good work. Not only did you fix and address these issues, but you went above and beyond in some cases. I will now pass this article and list it as a GA.--12george1 (talk) 20:10, 24 April 2017 (UTC)
