I just rewrote this a bit, again. Regiments with a cavalry tradition are still "cavalry regiments" today, even though they no longer ride horses into battle. In terms of tradition they are cavalry; in terms of their modern role, they are armoured (although I guess the two terms can also be synonyms). —Michael Z. 2006-09-12 19:33 Z
