How fast will it go? The Real Walrus 20:06, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
- See trivia in article - in 2004 the Rocket III set the world land speed record for a production motorcycle over 2000cc eaching it's electronically set limiter of 140.3 mph. I've had an indicated 130mph two up on the French motorway but never really pushed it solo - its more about grunt than top end thoughTony (talk) 04:50, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
Validation by R3 designer John Mockett
[edit]This article was checked and validated by the designer of the Rocket III John Mockett on the 14th April 2008. He was kind enough to comment that "it reads very well." Tony (talk) 04:54, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
New Category for British Motorcycles
[edit]As part of the Motorcycling WikiProject I am working though all the missing articles and stubs for British Bikes. To make things easier to sort out I have created a category for British motorcycles. Please will you add to any British motorcycle pages you find or create. It will also help to keep things organised if you use the Template:Infobox Motorcycle or add it where it is missing. I've linked the Category to the Commons British Motorcycles so you could help with matching pics to articles or adding the missing images to the Commons - take your camera next time you go to a rally! Misleading claims on performance and press-release peacock language
[edit]I believe Triumph's claims are a mixture of humor and the usual manufacturer hyperbole. I'm pretty sure the 2.5 second 0-60 mph time contains at least a full second of wishful thinking, and not only is it not faster than most sport bikes, it isn't even faster than the main competition, the Yamaha V-Max. Needs to be sorted out and have better citations. And the peacock adjectives need to go. --Dbratland (talk) 17:03, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
- Is that better? {I've owned one since the launch and can confirm that despite its size it is as fast as most sports bikes - and most sports cars - but if you do wheelies it burns out the clutch....) Thruxton (talk) 18:27, 29 September 2010 (UTC)
Calling Triumph Rocket the biggest motorcycle is misleading. Boss Hoss has models with three times the displacement volume and horsepower. http://www.bosshoss.com/view_bike.asp?x=BHC3LS3 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.48.138.154 (talk) 10:11, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
- It says "mass production". --Dennis Bratland (talk) 15:04, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

First sentence is not grammatically correct
[edit]The first sentence is not grammatically correct and doesn't scan or make sense at the end, after the last comma. 118.149.82.15 (talk) 00:12, 10 February 2023 (UTC)
