Plans for the article
[edit]Hello, In the next few days I'll be making quite a few edits to this article for a class project. In the past few years, the body of knowledge on TPhP has grown significantly, as has interest in it, so I'm hoping that my updates will reflect these advances. The most significant of my edits will be adding sections on the uses, health effects, and environmental transport and transformations of the compound. I'll also be adding short sections on physical and chemical properties and synthesis, but because I am less comfortable with these aspects, the sections will most likely not be very well-developed and would certainly benefit from the work of someone more knowledgeable. I have noticed that disputes seem to be fairly common with similar contaminants for which the toxicological data, in particular, has not yet been conclusive, so I am trying to tread carefully, and welcome any suggestions that might help make the article more neutral. Thank you!Awalsh621 (talk) 04:06, 5 April 2016 (UTC)
1) thank you very much for notifying other editors of your plans. 2) rely on this guideline WP:SECONDARY for references. Do NOT include primary sources. Textbooks and reviews should be your sources. Rely on major reviews. 3) Health effects are the most common area of editing by students because such efforts require little knowledge or expertise and one can rack up a lot of words. The standards are even higher, see WP:MEDRS. --Smokefoot (talk) 12:45, 5 April 2016 (UTC)
