My longest ever review thus far. Here are the issues I found:

Background

  • "Trinidad and Tobago's flagbearer at the ceremonies was swimmer George Bovell, who won a bronze medal in the 2004 Athens Olympics as part of the Trinidadian delegation." Link 2004 Athens Olympics.
  • "The athletic contingent of Trinidad and Tobago's team arrived in Beijing from Finland on August 5, 2008, but spent only one night before leaving for a training camp in nearby South Korea." Link Finland and South Korea.

Athletics

  • In Men's 100 meters: "He finished 40th out of the 40 advancing athletes, and did not advance to semifinals." Change to last of 40.
  • In Men's 100 meters: "falling behind Qatari sprinter Samuel Adelebari Francis" Samuel Adelebari Francis is a red link. Link to Samuel Francis (athlete) instead.
  • In Men's 100 meters: "Burns and Osovnikar finished ahead of Honduran athlete Cruz Rolando Palacios Castillo (10.49 second)." Cruz Rolando Palacios Castillo is a red link and change second to seconds.
  • In Men's 100 meters: "Tying Osovnikar and Germany's Tobias Benjamin Unger for 38th place out of 80 athletes. Burns advanced to quarterfinals." Change a full stop to a comma.
  • In Men's 100 meters: "Out of the forth quarterfinalists, Burns took sixth place." I think you mean forty?
  • In Men's 100 meters: "This time, out of the 40 quarterfinalists, Thompson tied the Netherlands Antilles' Martina for second place behind only Usain Bolt." Change 40 to forty.
  • In Men's 100 meters: "and Churandy Martina took third" Link if possible.
  • In Men's 200 meters: "son of American Olympian Debra Edwards-Armstrong and Trinidadian Olympian Ainsley Armstrong." Both people mentioned are red links.
Not done Red links aren't a problem. They aren't part of the GA criteria.
  • In Men's 400 meters: "The leaders of Modibo's heat were LaShawn Merritt (44.96 seconds), Nigeria's Saul Weipogwa (45.19 seconds) and Italy's Claudio Licciardello (45.25 seconds)." Saul Weipogwa is a red link and LaShawn Merritt isn't linked at all.
  • In Men's 400 meters: "Renny "Chicken" Quow participated in the Beijing Olympics' men's 400 meters dash for the Trinidadian delegation, his first participation at any Olympic games." Source at the end please.
  • In Men's 400 meters: "Quow ranked directly ahead of Senga Gary Kikaya" Senga Gary Kikaya is a red link.

  • In Women's 100 meters hurdles: "lead Barber's preliminary heat, with Harper eventually winning gold." Change lead to led.
  • In Women's long jump: "and behind the Republic of the Congo's Pamela Chardene Mouele-Mboussi" Pamela Chardene Mouele-Mboussi is a red link.
  • In Women's hammer throw: "China's Zhang Wenxiu (73.36 meters) and France's Manuela Montebrun (72.81 meters) lead the heat." Change lead to led.
  • In Women's 4x100 meters relay: Curious as to why they failed to finish?
  • In Summary: "three participated only in individual track events" Remove the word only.
  • In Summary: "two participated in only team track events" Remove the word only.

Thanks a lot Good888 for this. I have  done most of your changes. See above for the ones I didn't. - NG39 (Used to be NickGibson3900)Talk 05:14, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
NG39 I must of mixed up my FA and GA standards together. Anyhow promoting to GA class. Well done for getting yet another "at the 2008 Summer Olympics" article to GA class. good888 (talk) 09:34, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
