Wow, this list is so horribly wrong it's going to take a long time to fix. Actually, it would take a concerted group effort to fix, because no one person could possibly hunt down all the papers needed to support the changes. 74.97.188.107 (talk) 00:31, 15 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The link above is dead now; I suppose this is the same paper: http://www.snakegenomics.org/ToddCastoe/Publications_files/2006_Castoe_etal_MPE_Pitvipers.pdf --Powersurge (talk) 00:00, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Both links do not exist. --Eisfisch (talk) 21:10, 16 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Namesake of tea

[edit]

Is it of interest in this article to state that a type of green tea is named after the Mandarin name for the bamboo pit viper? 竹叶青 or zhu ye qing, is both the name of the viper and a popular tea grown at Emei Mountain in Sichuan Province, China. If so, I'm not sure of the appropriate section to add. Andy Kass (talk) 19:38, 28 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Think it would be more appropriate for the article of the specific species than a large over-inclusive borderline-wastebasket genus that's most likely going to be split into many genera. --Draco ignoramus sophomoricus (talk) 09:46, 12 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
