somewhat off-topic question

[edit]

I wonder if the compound F5S-SO3H is known, and if so, how acidic it is. It seems plausible that it rivals the acidity of triflic acid and possibly also that of triflidic acid. If not, one might construct compounds like (F5S-SO2)2NH which might be even more acidic. However, until now I haven't found any information about such compounds. Some perchloric acid derivatives like HC(ClO3)3 may be extremely acidic as well, but most of them are likely too unstable to be characterized.

This is just a remark to the statement about triflidic acid being the strongest traditional Brønstedt acid. --2003:E7:772E:B210:3017:D108:BED2:E852 (talk) 19:55, 25 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
