Tone

This whole aticle reads like a press release, or the official company history. I just added a intro paragraph about the company's troubles of late -- it's a start, methinks. Johndhackensacker3d (talk) 21:02, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

The whole history section looks like a copyvio. "Tribune is a media industry leader reaching more than 80 percent of U.S. households through newspaper publishing, television and radio broadcasting and the Internet. Operations are concentrated in the nation’s major markets, including the top three, New York, Los Angeles and Chicago" is DEFINITELY a copyvio--I've seen it on their official job postings. Critisisms

Changed from: "Tribune Company discovered that the Cubs are more profitable fielding a poor team" so that this sentence begins with the words: "Some critics believe".

Good to know this article was written by a Cubs fan, but the sentence was written as if it were fact and TribCo intentionally fields a losing team. TribCo wouldn't be too smart to intentionally field a losing team. For one the revenue from seating and food and drink in the playoffs is substantial also merchandise from the playoff season would be easy to sell, especially if the team were Division, League, or world champs since I don't know a Cubs fan without a 2003 NL Central Champion t-shirt.

Wrigley would still be packed even after the Cubs won a world series.

Tribune's possible departure from broadcasting!?!?

Why isn't there a section about their stock and pressure from their share holders?

Post-transition channel numbers

The section listing all the channel numbers needs to be reworked now that the DTV transition is completed. I have updated the info for the 3 Indiana stations, but someone with some time needs to go through the rest of the stations, eliminate the analog channel numbers, update the digital channel numbers (some stations moved after the transition), and change the column heading to be just DTV channel numbers. sgw1009 Sgw1009 (talk) 01:01, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Employee Ownership

According to this article(http://www.foxbusiness.com/story/markets/tribune-bankruptcy-wipes-employee-stock-ownership-plans/) the Tribune's employee ownership ended, that article is newer than the one used as a source for the company still being under employee ownership which leads me to believe that this wiki article is outdated. I could be wrong though and the fox article could just be mistaken(or the company could have gone back to employee ownership, though if that's the case a source should be given that says that), so instead of editing this article I'm just posting this info so that someone more qualified can look into it, thanks.
